The Alamo itself was taken over by the Texas Land Commissioner due to infrastructure issues. (About 5 years ago)
The City of San Antonio along with the Land Commissioner came up with plans for renovating Alamo Plaza.

To open up the space they were going to move this large monument called the cenotaph...the Oath Keepers and all those crazies started to move in around that time to protect the cenotaph.

Then in 2017, came Charlottesville and a confederate statute at a place called Travis Park..(About 2 miles away) The city decided to move the confederate monument. (I know it doesn't have anything to do with the Alamo, but these yahoos think it does and they were already mad about the cenotaph)

Then George Floyd happens, BLM and white nationalists clash on Alamo Plaza. The white nationalists rally around the cenotaph.

In 2020 the state said the cenotaph could not be moved.



The Oath Keepers, White Nationalists are there to protect the cenotaph and not the Alamo.
