(15,571 posts)...if the complicit GOP congress-critters and/or insider staff were actually competent instead of failed professionals/businesspeople, washed out military (up or out bay-bee!), diploma-mill graduates and conservative talking heads who are in it just for the lobbyist or PAC money, it might have succeeded.
That's the scary thing. If there really was a "Frank Underwood" running things in the background instead of a bunch of wannabes, we would be in a much worse position than we are now.
Come to think of it, a real "Frank Underwood" would quickly realize that if the election could not be stolen, any subsequent coup would so destroy the nation and the economy that what would be left would not be worth the coup.
I would hope the moneyed and business interests behind GOP PACs suddenly have come to the understanding that tearing the country apart means no comfortable profits for decades. No Quarterly Earnings. No markets. No ski resorts or tourist venues. No Infrastructure. There are no profits in the End Times, even if you can carve yourself out a fiefdom in the middle of Colorado where a resort used to be.
Nothing but uncertainty and dust. Better to back off, back out, and wait for the next election opening.
