(5,126 posts)You are angry and rightfully so. And you are right, we won't have REAL justice until we get results based on facts and using the law as it is supposed to be used, to protect American citizens from hate crimes, sedition and attack by deranged followers of the orange man.
I pray so hard that your daughter not only survives but comes back 110% and thrives.
SHE is on the front lines just as you were, just a different battle zone.
It's so hard to be a parent when we can't reach out and fix whatever is hurting our child.
Or if we can, but shouldn't due to legal and moral considerations.
I somewhat know how you feel. Not exactly, but when I found out when my son was young that his Dad had sexually abused him I wanted to get in a car and go kill the bastard at that exact moment. He's dead now, not by my hand, but by his own. But there are days I would like to dig up his grave, stomp on him and throw him back in.
We had separated and were still fighting about custody because he couldn't stay sober long enough for me to trust him. He'd tried to kill me many years prior which led to separation, but he wanted joint custody and I just couldn't do it. I didn't know he was actually hurting my son. He gave up his parental rights rather than admit what he'd done.
When people hurt our children, they rip at our very souls.
Stay strong. You deserve the justice you seek, just don't go vigilante.
These assholes will get what is coming to them.
