32. Eisenhower was as non-partisan a President

as we've had in recent decades. In his defense, few men of prominence stood up to Sen. Joe McCarthy and the House UnAmerican Committee. Eisenhower carried out the desegregation of the military and associated organizations ordered initially by Truman. He deserves credit for that among many other things.
