(10,825 posts)I do think he's correct that we have basically engineered an entire industry to treat problems another industry inflicted. We have a health care industry charging us money what the food industry has managed.
But at the end of the day, it's also a choice. Do I want swiss cake rolls or should I eat a grilled chicken spinach salad. And if I go for the cake rolls, because they're only $2 a box, is Little Debbie really to blame there?
But we do have a health and pharmaceutical industry geared towards treating a host of self-inflicted problems.
However. He goes too far. He goes into the fever swamps about vaccines and medicine. I'm sure you know those people, living their "pure" life. "I only eat the most organic of meats and cheeses," or whatever, and you're fighting to keep your eyes rolling out of your head. And if we get sick, well, we must not be taking care of ourselves properly. Like all disease is a personal choice. "Well, you ate a twinkie that one time, and that's why you have cancer."
Uh, no, Bill.
I think you and I are in agreement on this part of his schtick.
