3. I haven't bought a lottery ticket in 20 years, and I have won as often as friends that play weekly.

I don't like the lottery because I see too many desperate people gambling their last dollar on a losing preposition. I see the lottery as a tax on the ignorant; on people that can't calculate odds. I see it as a scam the state plays on its most vulnerable people. I felt so bad when I saw a woman buying two one dollar scratch-off tickets hoping to win enough money to buy gas to drive to work that when she came up empty, I bought her some gas. I couldn't take her tears...
