ROME, Ga. — A dozen Democrats are considering challenging U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga.) in Georgia’s 14th congressional district. But some political insiders think an independent challenge could be a bigger threat to Greene’s re-election next year.

Marcus Flowers, a former Army sergeant and defense contractor from Bremen, said he has filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to explore his candidacy for the seat.
