It wasn't just against Hillary Clinton although she became the favorite whipping girl because she was a woman, a educated professional who had the audacity to speak up, have an opinion, push back. She was/is everything the Strongmen admirers hate, a skeptic to their overblown masculinity myth. And she didn't mind telling people that. Same thing with the pseudo-Christians; they want their women in the background, meek but always supportive, even if they're sporting a black eye.

And yes, I've read of Lewis Powell and his corporate blueprint for America. The same ole buzzwords--the radical Left, communism, socialism all evoked by the Civil Rights movement and the stoking of fear, coming mayhem. I'm sure Hillary Clinton was well aware of Powell's viewpoint. We could even take it back to Ford and Lindbergh, both Nazi sympathizers, and the various assassination plots against FDR.

Further still, of course. America has a checkered political past to say the least.

Yet I still think HR felt/sensed the tremors of the current earthquake early on, then tried to warn us in 2016. Basket of deplorables? Spot on. There is no other Donald Trump--what you see is what you get?

If anything the latter was an understatement. What we saw multiplied by 100 is what we got.

Yes, and Mr. Wattamess's father, Fred Chase Koch, was a founding member of the John Birch Society. The acorns don't fall far from the Crazy Tree.

The madness has had a very long run.
