17. 1800 USD counting the first cheque. So even worse optics.

here is a repost of a reply I did (I do not want to spam this on every reply but you are a quick study and I value your opinion).

75K is the 'get nothing at all' cut-off under the new proposed rules, but people will start to see less if they make over 50K under what Manchin wants, and if it is like the other two (especially the 2nd one), the cut-off levels are steep. For instance, if you made just 5K usd more than the initial cut-off for the 600 usd cheque , you only got 100 usd, versus (with the exact same income) 950 usd of the 1200 usd for the initial cheque..

My cousin (in very expensive Los Angeles) will go from almost the full 1800 usd under Rump to getting literally nothing under the new rules. She got dinged 50 usd (so she got 1750 usd total for the two) on the last cheque as they lowered the 'get zero' level from 99K, which was the 'get-nothing' cut-off for the 1200 usd cheques, down to 87K for the 2nd round (the 600 usd ones).

It is really bad optics, like you said. We have millions of voters who will be short-changed or get zero.
