I understand the position we are in with Manchin, but I am quickly getting fed up with his posturing and antics. He is going to possibly help cost us the Senate and the House in 2022 unless he becomes more of a team player on certain things.

I do not expect him to go full left wing at all, for sure, but just go along with things that basically every other, or almost every other of the hundreds of Dems in our caucus support, especially the major Biden initiatives.

I see people go bonkers over some meaningless symbolic votes by a handful of House members on bills that pass by 200, 300, or so votes, but then many turn around and twist themselves into pretzels with 3-dimensional chess arguments and rationalisations when Manchin actually wants to block parts of Biden's agenda all by himself.

There is almost no chance that some of these things he wants to block or is pushing for (this reduced cut-off level, the 15 usd ph min wage phased in over 5 years, etc) actually helps him in 4 years (not 2, he is up in 2024) with re-election in WV, especially considering it is one of the poorest states in the union. If a voter wants slashed aid or no aid, they are simply going to vote for the Rethug.
