like the PPP/small business relief programs where there was some actual fraud/abuse/waste.

Lowering the income thresholds to qualify for the stimulus check is politically very dangerous, as your post suggests, and as Bernie recently tweeted, that voters will start to view Trump as more 'generous' than Biden - ugh we don't need this shit. I think we should even raise the income threshold as many people who were doing well 'on paper' are struggling for pandemic related reasons now.

Manchin is playing right into the GOP's hands, as they would love nothing more than to divide our base, which is heavily urban and suburban where salaries may be higher but cost of living also higher.
