(2,937 posts)that this would all be different. I had foolishly thought--say in July or so--that when the vaccine came out, it would be OUT, like flu shots--you make an appt and go get it. So the plan was for the hubs and I to stagger them so if we both have severe reactions, the other one can let the dogs in and out, feed them, and be up and about feeling fine. No such luck. We feel fortunate to have gotten in for our first Moderna shots on the 4th. Absolutely zero reaction for both of us, barely even arm soreness. I hope the next one does not knock us both out, someone has to tend to the dogs. We are 69 and 70, he is far healthier than I am and so I hope he has less reaction, if there is going to be fallout from it.
The idea that younger people have a worse reaction interests me. The younger the person, the more likely they were slathered with antibacterial stuff as kids. Us? Children of the 50's--we basically ate the sand in our sandbox (what? cats peed there? No prob!) and other dirt, we were exposed to everything, not like kids today. I think this has served us well.
