If you are not familiar with the Red Letter Bible, all of the words of Jesus are in red letters.
I'm a Humanist and not a believer, but love to study religion. If you look at those words in Mark, John, Luke and Matthew, they do make sense and could be something to live by. If this were a Christian Country, the 10 Commandments would not be used, only the Beatitudes.

But, that's just me.
