9. Life is so precious and fleeting.

The next day is never guaranteed. The finality of death is a scary concept to the human mind, and I feel like retail chains going under reminds us of that obliteration, in a way.

I remember Circuit City fondly, even though it was just another boilerplate computers / electronics store. I didn’t really have any good memories there, and in fact, was really bored. My mom and dad would drag me around, often by hand. However, now that it’s gone, I miss it in an odd way. It’s like an old acquaintance of the past that died suddenly - Suddenly, they matter more in your memories than they did in your life...

I’m afraid of dying, but time moves ever forward. Circuit City and I will soon be equal - nothing, forgotten, dust...

This isn’t really intended to sound poetic or pretentious. I just suddenly thought of the parallels of our own deaths and the death of something familiar - anything familiar. It’s like a chapter in our life, no matter how insignificant, is over, and we are conscious of the passage of time.
