a few minutes ago a guest on Nicolle Wallace's show said those calling for Cuomo to resign are mainly political rivals, like DeBlasio. I know nothing about the Lt. Gov. but it's possible that she really, really, really wants to be gov. regardless of how it affects Trump.

Then there's the possibility that GQPers believe the Lt. Gov. would be easier to beat in an election so they could then pardon Trump.
