9. A Dallas album burning protest was organized by the local KKK

You know, just one of their outreaches.
The local news station interviewed the Klan spokesman.

I missed this as a 9 yr old, but saw the interview clip some time in the 90s.

One good thing about that, personally: About 5 yrs after that, my very churchy cousins gave me their copies of several Beatles albums, which was very nice, and I got to catch up on deep cuts I'd not heard before.

They are still churchy to the max, and are very nice people in many ways, but still confused by my apostasy after all these years.
