(364 posts)Look, I am really, really REALLY not inclined towards conspiracy theories, but let's look squarely at the evidence:
The Repubs and similarly misguided individuals and groups did coordinate to overthrow Biden's win in countless ways. And THAT is just one of the more egregious of many illegal strategies spanning decades. They will do anything to win. Nothing is off-limits in their quest for a Republican autocracy. NOTHING. It has been a strategic and planned, though sometimes bumbling, effort for decades.
Hilary spoke no lie when she referenced a vast right-wing conspiracy. Their political strategies and machinations exist within a different paradigm than those of the Dems. I repeat: Their political strategies and machinations exist within a different paradigm than those of the Dems. As such, we question the powers and causes behind events at our peril.
As progressives, we at least try to base our assumptions and conclusions on facts, science, and evidence, rather than shadowy hunches and circumstantial evidence. Well clue phone to us all - in this case, we need to look at the circumstantial evidence and the many previous nefarious plots that were only revealed after the fact.
Yes, we should continue to be analytical and seek fact-based evidence, but as the saying goes: if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks....then we should be highly suspicious at minimum. I will say it again, not to lecture, but because I believe it is so important: we fail to do so at our own peril and, until all the facts are revealed, we must be highly suspicious. That my friends should not be confused with conspiracy thinking. That my friends is healthy caution and a realistic reckoning with the realities we have seen to date.
