Where I live, they don't stop crime, but they do use force and chemical weapons against peaceful protestors. Most murderers get away with their crimes because most LE do not have the skills to conduct a proper murder investigation and usually contaminate any evidence on the scene or make poor decisions that irreparably harm the case. If a white man guns down minorities, they are treated with kid gloves by their white power allies in the police force. If black, you're gunned down sleeping in your own bed, and the idiots who murdered you walk free. I stopped subscribing to the illusion of police as protectors and purveyors of justice, especially after the T**** era.
