My Dad and I used to go out to lunch in North Beach in San Francisco and we would always walk over to a special bakery that made Italian Cream Puffs - as with your treat, not filled with the white stuff, but Italian cream (custard with a subtle rum flavor). They were covered in powdered sugar and we would take them back to the car and eat them there! Such lovely memories! Miss my Dad every day.
