He can probably see the handwriting on the wall about Taiwan.

The American public has no appetite for another Viet Nam.

China is working hard to corner the market on many resources.
They have been doing so quietly for a couple of decades while American re-fights its own Civil War.

China wants Taiwan as they see Taiwan as stolen from them and they want it back.
And they are hell bent on capturing the South China Sea and its resources.

Yes China is the biggest threat to freedom and democracy on the planet.
