(1,343 posts)that has said anything along the lines of "If you have major side effects, it means the vaccine is working"? I keep hearing and reading about this but I don't think it's true.
Because we don't yet have the facilities to produce our own vaccine (we used to, but Conservative Party shortsightedness sold Connaught Labs some 20 years ago), we have to depend on supplies from the US and other countries. Because of that, we're getting our second shot about 4 months after the first.
So I'm wondering what the reactions will be to the second shot - which essentially acts as a booster. I'm suspecting that the s/e's may not be as severe, because the body has ample time to manufacture antibodies.
I guess we shall see! I had no reaction to the first Pfizer shot. Second one due in July.
