Used to be any would-be owner, either a private citizen OR corporate entity, had to conform to a very simple basic rule: you can own THREE broadcast media properties in any one market. In any combination. It usually worked out to one TV station, one AM station, and one FM station, although there were many combinations. That would have to be modified a little bit to re ignite the nature of evolving media, but the same overriding ilicy would still hold.

And no, you would NOT have the “freedom” to run the table. To own it all. To buy up every station of its kind and create one big funnel of one-sided worldview.
