In reply to the discussion: My Covid-19 experience. [View all]FakeNoose
(42,533 posts)35. I'm glad to hear that you recovered nicely
I'm sure this was far from a "nice" experience, but your many years of exercise and conditioning have given your heart and lungs a fighting chance.
I'm wondering if possibly you had been exposed to the virus even before your first shot? Something similar happened to my nephew who was waiting on tables in a high-end restaurant. The waitstaff all wear masks of course, but customers sitting at tables will normally remove their masks when eating their food.
So my nephew George got his first shot in March, but then he developed Covid symptoms (mild case) about a week later. He knows where he caught it, but not when.
Congratulations my friend, and keep wearing your mask.

Being double vaccinated hasn't inspired me to change my precautions, one little bit.

A friend, also exerciser, said he just kept walking. He felt worse trying to rest.
