10. She may have other motivations

It may be her fealty to democracy and a moral compass of some sort that prompts her stances. But there may be personal reasons as well. She spent most of her youth in the D.C. area, went to college in Colorado and then the University of Chicago. She then spent most of her professional life in D.C. She really is NOT a Wyoming type, so being a rep from that state full of rednecks is probably not something she is enjoying all that much.

Unlike most of the repub goofballs in the House, she would have no trouble getting a highly-paid position in Washington if she left or was voted out, i.e. she doesn't have all that much to lose but will burnish her image with these stances. And she could run for prez or move to a repub-leaning district or state back east.
