Unless we can expose said blackmail material, preferably in a court of law, in the near future.

30 years down the line it wont be relevant. Did they support him because they like his brand of fascism? Did they support him because they were doing different illegal things and he held it over them? why is it relevant, criminal enterprise to overthrow the country is criminal enterprise to overthrow the country.
