(17,757 posts)I also think that they treat the Palestinians like the Germans treated the Jews before The Final Solution. In fact, that collapsing building we saw on the news broke a lot of crystal, now didn't it? Just because the violence is not up close and personal doesn't change the facts.....
Israel will never have peace until they respect the borders and the people of their neighboring states. If the Palestinians didn't fight back they wouldn't be worth a damn. In fact this latest war will guarantee the recruitment of another generation of Palestinian fighters. It must be what Israel wants, because they do everything in their power to sustain the constant state of war, hot and cold, and have done so for as long as I can remember.
If you want to interpret my comments as anti-Semitic, then so be it. I am not anti Jewish, In fact, I don't care about religion of any flavor; I consider it all hocus-pocus. I hold Atheists, Jews, Christians and Moslems all to the same moral and ethical standards. I don't have my head in the sand and I don't believe in faith-based truths. I think that a lot of the problems in the Middle East are caused by the fusion of religion and state. It is a bad idea, no matter what state or what religion. "God" seems to be the justification of more evil than Satan. After all, who has ever claimed that Satan was on their side?
I have studied the history of the 1930s to the 1950s for a lifetime. There are no words to describe the horror and the evil of the holocaust. I have never been able to wrap my mind around how one group could treat another group of people so heartlessly, and especially how that they could do it in the name of the Christian God. Gott Mit Uns indeed. However, those dark days of history do not give Israel license to take what they want and displace the current occupants to suit their desires.
There, I have laid out how I feel about it. Paint me with whatever label that makes you happy.
