(15,675 posts)For generations, their "men of God" have told them that they're Jesus' special snowflakes, and of course God agrees 100% with their political opinions. When you're told this, it leads to a kind of radicalization that goes beyond not being willing to work with the other side but viewing them as pawns - either knowingly or unknowingly - of the Devil. Add onto this that republicans have always said (at least since I've been alive) in one way or another, that their candidates are God's chosen (no more so than with Trump), and all you're missing are belt buckles with, "Gott Mitt Uns," inscribed on them.
I've been doing a deep dive into the latest batch of "prophets." They all have their own YouTube channels, and they all predicted Trump would win, and the fact that Biden is president is all the proof that the election was stolen - the nutty Q theories on vote fraud is just gravy. God's will not being done is good enough.
