(1,666 posts)...the DEA more or less is tuning a blind eye to the weed legal states. Now even a Republican controlled BATFE might not look well at ignoring title 2, National Firearms Act weapon procedures (I think they would for semi-autos being added to it).
A Democrat-controlled BATFE might not stand back like the DEA is doing; which would cause an interesting situation with one side arguing hey show me the rule you are using to allow you to ignore federal laws but not us. Also, I live in deep red Missouri. It isnt just the state ignoring a potential AWB, it is that local police departments wont either. They wont turn in people for ignoring a ban when they hunt and shoot with those same people and have those guns at their home as well.
That would make the BATFEs job a lot harder to enforce across all the red states. I do think the Republicans are going too far with trying to ignore silencer rules. I guess we will see where this goes. If they try to ignore the 1986 ban on new full auto weapons, that would certainly cause the BATFE to come out swinging.
