11. A Long Time Ago In a Small Living Room....

I was attending a neighborhood rally for some local candidate in Atlanta. Suddenly, everyone was real excited that Max was coming to visit us. Moments later a wheelchair was rolled into the room. It was Max Cleland. Didn't know who he was. Didn't know what the history was. Met and spoke briefly. This wasn't a man who nearly died on the Hill. This was a man that was reborn to serve his fellow man. Have always cherished that moment. Thanks for the memory-jog, James!
