1. I've tried for over six years to

get my MIL out of the house. She needs socialization with people her age to help stimulate her brain which is deteriorating due to dementia. I've offered to take her wherever and whenever needed. I investigated options, from Sunshine clubs to volunteer opportunities, some church-affiliated, but not all.

She complains about being lonely. She gets paranoid. She gets antagonistic.

She finally attended a Sunshine Club last week and had the best time. She told me all the way home what fun it was, and she'd go almost every day if they offered more sessions. 24 hours later, she tells me she didn't like those people, she didn't trust them, and she didn't want to have anything to do with them. I'm tired of wasting my time trying to help her.
