Mr. President, your grass is (almost) ready! (Pic Heavy)

I feel very special today. I was a very small part of the rebuilding project between the National Monument and the Capitol Building. My specific task was top dressing some of the new lawn area between these two landmarks in preparation for the next (Obama’s) Inauguration.

So if you’re lucky enough to stand on this grass during the re inauguration, or even if you just see it on TV, take heart in knowing a DUer was (a small) part of getting this project completed.

Here are some pics:

What we were doing, top dressing the grass

The area between us and the Capitol Building should be grass in just a couple of weeks. We’ll be back for the top dressing of that area shortly.

My best shot of the day, imo

I’ll take many more and much better pics of the next round of work. Hope this was a fun distraction for you on the eve of a busy debate night. We’ll have this project completed for the hundreds of thousands that turn out to see Obama sworn into office for the second time!
