Some regions are quite close or at herd immunity levels. Also you should add the already infected to the vaccinated numbers. Your risk of getting covid again is very low.

While the delta variant rates are rising, overall rates were declining drastically and have currently plateaued at a fairly low level. The situation is not nearly as dire as the headline seems to imply.
