(5,191 posts)19. I understand that, & am so proud of that reporter. I was the middle
child in a very large white family. We weren't "dysfunctional" but very far from "Leave It To Beaver". Because of that "rough" upbringing I am often called upon to handle family business/conflicts because my siblings say I "ain't afraid".
Edit to add: I had to learn to fight, physically & verbally, early on. As a young adult I took karate lessons because I realized how important it was to be able to protect myself.

Kinda' like Scout in "To Kill a Mockingbird". I loved how scrappy she was. She "ain't afraid."
