Admitting Ukraine to NATO is going to leave an even bigger one. He really wants at least a defacto annexation of Ukraine and Belarus, something he almost had when there were puppets in both countries and they were afraid of the bear in the woods. This gives Ukraine a pack of mastiffs at the ready and the bear's going to have to look for easier meals.

Putin's not used to tough Democrats. To tell the truth, I'm not, either, but it's a change I welcome. I doubt he'll be pleased.
