I don't know if outside reading would help with every post or topic, but here is a blanket reading rec, other than the TOS

Before you comment on a topic or thread:

One should read the entire OP, including the link if there is one ( the question you are about to ask or the point you are about to make is often addressed in the link, folks)
One should read all the replies as well. (they are, after all the point of a discussion board)
One should try and understand the points being made (reading comprehension is a huge problem everywhere in life, especially on the net and social) before flying off half-cocked and knee jerked ( guilty myself at times)
