22. My most recent North American ancestor was a Scandinavian mail order bride to Salt Lake City.

She didn't like sharing a husband so she ran off with some monogamous guy she met on the street, possibly while shopping.

He was a surveyor. Both of them could do the math. They liked math.

Her polygamous Mormon marriage was null and void in the eyes of the Federal government so they married "for real" and homesteaded some land, which was U.S.A government policy in opposition to the Mormons.

Some of my wife's ancestors were here in North America thousands of years before the U.S. Army forced them across the new border with Mexico.

They returned in the twentieth century as "immigrant" farm workers.

Our children have a rich Wild West heritage and their parents are crazy scientists.

My wife and I met teaching science in the big city.
