A sea urchin spine, a sting ray's stinger, a plant that has a toxic secretion that acts slowly

It's usually safe there, but there can always be contact with something that ends up being really dangerous. If she started having symptoms, and the local physicians said she needed longer term care, but wasn't in immediate mortal danger, I can understand her being removed to be closer to Washington.
