It should always be a combination of sources when considering these issues.
For example, someone who is addicted to cigarettes, and who has been eating at restaurants during a pandemic, isnt a credible resource on public health issues IMO. Someone like Dr Fauci, who doesnt do those things, and who has verifiable, publicly known credentials, is an example of someone who is credible.
It was never a question of masking or not to mask for me because I never stopped. Beyond the protection, they give me a feeling of anonymity, which I like.
I was also one of the first people here to conclude the mitigation game is almost entirely centered around protecting yourself from respiratory transmission, while others here were debating how long to wash their hands, and other shit that never really mattered as much as the former. Never saw the need to self congratulate though.
