5. How bad is this surge going to be and how big the economic effects?

We have the vaccines to limit both, and delta has already started vaccination rates shooting up again, 70% now have had at least 1 shot.

I'm proud of us (Democrats!) for having the will and our nation for being able to to enact the moratorium in the first place. But it has to end at some point, and it was thought this summer would be a responsible time.

Has that really changed? I don't know. I do wonder, though, specifically because our Democratic caucuses haven't yet moved to create another extension. Maybe shaking loose the giant fortunes of federal aid that states were supposed to disperse to people in trouble is our next step, assisted by the renewed media attention that only ending the moratorium would generate.

Notably, that last has already begun.
