In reply to the discussion: Should Andrew Cuomo resign? [View all]Ohio Joe
(21,896 posts)You really need to be told what is wrong with wanting to let a person in a position of power get away with sexual assault because someone else so far is? Really? Sheesh... OK.
1 - Gaetz is being gone after. While his base is fine with sexual assault and letting him continue, those of us on the left are not. There were plenty of calls for him to resign but it is a right wing position that they don't consider it a problem. The rule of law is and will continue to chase down both Gaetz and Cuomo, one POS from each party... The choice we have to make is do we let our POS remain in power while that happens.
2 - Whataboutism - Its always a bullshit argument. One persons evil does not justify another evil.
3 - Power for the sake of power... Is that really what you want? To what end? Support the use of evil to gain power... And do what with that power? Suddenly do the right thing?
4 - Lets put aside the moral issue of letting a POS stay in office because someone from the other party is being allowed to do so and talk practicality. Regardless if Cuomo stays in office or not, this crime will hang around him and only get worse, his chances of winning reelection will be slim to none. A repug governor will kill any/all investigations in TFG and let him not only go free but allow him another chance at destroying our democracy. Sounds like a stupid plan to me.
Please... Rebut all points... Justify why being just like the magats and supporting someone who commits sexual assault is a good idea for Dems. What other right wing traits do you think we should adopt?
