(89,196 posts)This is FUCKING SERIOUS. What don't people understand about COVID being a KILLER virus? It KILLS. People DIE of it. And there's no coming back from that. Or trying to message your way around it to somehow justify being fucking selfish and short-sighted and in denial because you want to stay true to what donald-the-lying-asshole just made up as some kind of insane "justification".
NO wiggle room.
NO compromise.
NO exceptions.
NO bullshit excuses.
NO "shades of gray."
NO "my FREEDOM-FREEDOM."
NO "nobody tells ME what to do."
NO "it's MY choice."
NO "my body my choice." NOT this time or with this issue. WRONG "cause" and WRONG-as-shit application.
If you work or otherwise interface with other people in ANY capacity, it's one OR the other. You get vaccinated and to hell with whatever you think is your freedom-freedom, or you try to hijack the pro-choice movement's "my body my choice" schtick. This is DIFFERENT, and goes WAY beyond the scope of your own personal physical inside or outside.
And if you seriously and/or sincerely claim to be "pro-life," then you better be first in line to proclaim this loudly and clearly to everybody you come into contact with, and accept NO substitutes. Because THIS is REALLY a life-or-death issue at its most basic.
I hate to be a hard-ass about this. But that's what it's come to. Is you IS or is you AIN'T? It shouldn't be an issue but unfortunately, the pigheaded among us force it to be exactly that.
