(58,785 posts)38. Nancy's taken a stand: the House will pass both bills or NEITHER.
Not the first time by a long shot that she's taken a very hard stand for progressive legislation.
The one that leaps to mind is Pelosi telling President Obama to his face that the house would agree to an ACA bill that included all the provisions in the house bill -- or NO ACA AT ALL. The ACA was Nancy's baby above all, and this was when Biden and senate Dems were afraid they couldn't get the ACA passed and were talking seriously about removing important provisions that were sticking points. That all's why some who were there occasionally admiringly call the ACA Pelosicare.
