6. I thought TFG had surrendered to the Taliban when Pompeo told them we were leaving in May.

Or did I miss something? The Hill's headline, "Trump's deal with the Taliban set the stage for the Afghan collapse," pretty much says what lots of other news sources are saying. Biden pushed back the date of T****'s deal, which would have withdrawn all American troops by May 2021.

While Biden bears the brunt of how the evacuation is occurring, he didn't "surrender," as TFG and his RW sycophants are claiming. He knew for months that the translators and others who had helped the U.S. needed to be evacuated before the Taliban took over, but there was no sense of urgency to get it done. Even Rachel Maddow has been ringing the alarm bell for the past several months.

There will be time for analysis and finger-pointing after the last Afghan leaves. Right now the focus has to be on getting everyone out ASAP.
