(10,829 posts)This is a self-reporting poll (i.e. bad statistics) vs. actual data collected by medical professionals and scientists.
Aside from fuck that Republican in Texas, there is a reason to be concerned about Black Americans flagging in vaccination rates. Not only do we want them to get vaccinated, but it's important to look at the data and start asking why. Is it vaccine hesitancy? Is there a way to alleviate that by working within the community (i.e. churches)? Is it lack of availability? Are these communities not being served at the same rates? I think we know that's always been a thing.
It's important to have accurate data so we know what kinds of policies to push forward.
A self-reporting poll is not that. That's Statistics 101.
