But from what I understand, the J&J vaccine is not a traditional vaccine either. It uses an adenovirus, which is a well tested mechanism, but apparently something about it is still experimental - something about a nucleaic vector, I think. Like I said, my knowledge of this is limited. The family members who don't want to get the currently available vaccines actually know a lot more about science and virology than I do, which makes it harder to argue with them about it.
