It was a drug interaction.
Brought her sodium level to 105mg/liter.
Anything under 135 is concerning. Under 125 is severe.
The LD50 is 98. So, she was 7ppm from the LD50, meaning she probably had a 30% chance of dying!
Worst part: it was ME that looked up this drug on the internet and discovered the side effect. Her GP & prescribing doctor both were confused.
They were hitting with IV after IV of saline, and level wouldn't rise.
They pulled that med off her list and in two day she was at 138. Man, was I mad!
