(102,276 posts)1. Many hospital have their "birthing" units and ob/gyn surgical facilities in facilities adjacent but
separate from the main hospital. I hope that might be the case for your daughter as those facilities have been better able to maintain distinctly separate staffing and lowered risk for patients and staff--thereby making it more likely their services can continue with fewer impacts.
Older hospitals may still have the old integration of these units within the wider hospital themselves. If that is the case, you are more likely to face issues with scheduling the induction sans a critical emergency event.
I wish your daughter and your family the best. This is a tough time to be pregnant and I sincerely hope she is vaccinated. To a very health baby and grandchild and a smooth delivery for mom and child.
