(any efforts to go down that road leads to unintended consequence)

What we really need is to move our electorate away from their penchant for electing bumble-f*cks because - "Tellin' it like it is," "Sharing a beer" or "Not one of them ivory tower elites." As long as the voter is looking for the lowest common denominator ... This is what we get. And - to be honest, this is representative democracy.
