Political propaganda designed to spite the Dems, and to gain political power over the Dems.

So I think both your point and the other one are correct.

There are going to be doctoral dissertations written on this phenomenon, so we shall find out the exact thought process
at some point. But the researchers need to act fast, their subjects are dying in droves.
