This sentence:

“Cula's farming and ranching family have been staunch republicans from the dawn of time.”

It just bugs me.

Republicans have given farmers the back of their hand fir decades and yet they keep coming back for more; like they have ‘Battered women syndrome.’ Democrats have done more for farmers (and labor) than Republicans ever have. It was FDR who saved the American farmer when successive Republican administrations - purposely! - ignored them. And if Cula and family are in their 80’s they MUST know that, MUST know what farming was like in the 30’s and 40’s!

And how many farmers were crushed fiscally and emotionally by Trump and his China tariffs? In some cases losing their farms? Committing suicide…?

My favorite quote:

“Farm income has increased from less than $2 1?4 billion in 1932 to more than $18 billion in 1947. Never in the world were the farmers of any republic or any kingdom or any other country as prosperous as the farmers of the United States; and if they don’t do their duty by the Democratic Party, they are the most ungrateful people in the world!” - Harry Truman, DNC, 1948.

Yup.
